In Balance, Dorothée Rodriguez Velar revisits the ancestral wisdom of the Dogon people of Mali, whose cosmology and art reflect the profound unity of the visible and the invisible. Two primordial figures rise symmetrically, embodying man and woman as mirror reflections of the same divine essence. Their grounded presence evokes stability and rootedness, while their upward gesture opens toward transcendence.

The composition is structured with geometric precision, where earth tones, sacred symbols, and ritual motifs intertwine to express a universal law of harmony: opposites do not destroy each other, they complete one another.
